A groundbreaking camera that showcased Canon’s first use of computerization to control camera functions. Excellent functionality combined with ease of use. Introduced in 1984, the T70 has an onboard computer and a good set of features. It has motorized film winding and rewind, and Program Auto, Shutter Priority and Manual Exposure modes (comparable to the Canon AE-1 Program). It has a simple but very clear viewfinder display that tells you which mode you are using, plus the aperture that the camera is selecting. In Program Auto mode, you simply need to focus the lens and click the shutter. In Shutter Priority mode, you can select your chosen shutter speed using the up/down buttons on top of the camera, and the camera will automatically select the correct aperture to give perfect exposure. We also stock the original flash units that Canon designed specifically for this camera. Click here to view. To the left the camera has a slide switch that turns on the power and selects the metering mode / self timer The camera is clever in offering two metering modes: Average metering (good for most situations) measures the light across the whole frame. Partial metering measures the light in the centre only which is great for tricky situations such as backlit subjects or deep shadow. The camera runs 2 x AA batteries, so no fancy Lithium cells needed here ! In very good condition. -

A milestone in photography: Canon's first autofocus SLR camera During the 1980s major camera manufacturers were all competing hard to add autofocus to their SLRs. See the gallery for some example shots we took with a T80 and 35-70mm lens. Canon's entry was the T80, introduced in 1985. To build a truly point-and-shoot camera the design is very minimal, with a heavy slant towards total automation. It has 5 automatic exposure modes. Program mode - automatically selects both aperture and shutter speed Deep depth of field mode - selects aperture and shutter speed with a bias towards smaller apertures Shallow depth of field mode - selects aperture and shutter speed with a bias towards wider apertures (good for portraits) Stop action - selects aperture and shutter speed with a bias towards faster shutter speeds (for sport) Flowing mode - allows the user to select a shutter speed (suggested for shooting moving subjects). With this level of automation there are very few buttons, and the exposure mode is selected with the slider on the top right, with pictograms to show you which mode you have selected. 3 special autofocus lenses were released to go with the camera: 50mm 35-70mm zoom 70-210mm zoom All lenses have an unmistakable shape / profile to house the autofocus mechanism making this a striking camera to carry around - 1985 retro looks rock ! Note that the T80 can also take standard Canon FD mount lenses (the same as the Canon AE-1). While they don't have autofocus capability, you simply focus manually with the added benefit that the T80 tells you when the focus is correct. We also stock the original flash units that Canon designed specifically for this camera. Click here to view. The camera runs on 4 x AAA batteries. Camera and lens both in very good condition, and full working order. -

A very stylish manual SLR film camera with some very nice features. If you haven't seen any reviews of this camera we encourage you to read them. Take a look at the gallery for some example shots we took with an FTb. This is one of the finest manual-only cameras of the era - with a lovely smooth winding / shutter action that screams quality. It operates in full manual mode, with the built-in light meter. The viewfinder has the tried-and-trusted match needle system, but also displays the selected shutter speed. Also has a self timer, and depth-of-field preview - a useful feature that is normally on higher-end cameras of the era. Uses the Canon Quick Load system to make loading film incredibly simple (the same system as used on the great Canonet QL17 rangefinder). The camera operates fully mechanically, and only uses the battery for the light meter. It takes 1x SR44 battery (supplied). We generally have both silver and black versions in stock. Let us know if you have a preference. A superb camera for beginners who will really learn the fundamentals of photography, but with the quality to last for years. We also stock a book: 'Learn Film Photography with the Canon FTb'. Check it out here. Great for learning about photography using this camera. Condition Very good condition all round - no major marks or scratches. Beautiful clear lens (50mm f1.8). Viewfinder generally clear with a few marks on the focusing screen All functions are working correctly including the light meter We also stock a selection of Canon lenses for this camera - click HERE to view and expand your system ! -

A beautiful example of the 1965 Canonet QL19. The first of the Canonet range to introduce Canon's excellent quick film loading (QL) system, this example even comes with the original metal lens hood. It is powered by a single SR44 battery (to power the meter) however the aperture and shutter are fully mechanical. Made in Japan, it has both manual and automatic exposure modes, and a wide range of shutter speeds. Rangefinder focusing means that it is quick to accurately focus the lens, for pin-sharp results. We occasionally have the original case in stock for this camera. Click here for details. Features: f1.9 lens with rangefinder focusing Shutter speeds from 1/500 - 1s and B (bulb) Automatic (shutter priority) exposure mode Manual exposure mode Self-timer Aperture value shown in viewfinder Takes regular SR44 battery with adaptor (supplied) Condition: Body: no dents or major scratches, and very minor signs of use. Lens: no marks / scratches / mould. In perfect working order -

A very special compact camera with fully automatic operation. This was actually the first camera Canon ever made with a built-in flash. It is also unusual in that it also has the rangefinder focusing system too (virtually no other rangefinders have a flash). Take a look at the gallery for example photos we took with a Datelux. Feels really great to hold - far better build quality than later (more plastic) cameras. Very easy to use and with a lovely 40mm lens. Just turn the lens to focus and press the shutter button. Comes with a reprint of the original instruction manual. If light is too low then the shutter will not fire, which reminds you to use the pop-up flash. Takes regular 35mm film. Has a self-timer, and can also imprint the year / month / day on photos if required. All functions tested: - Lovely clear viewfinder, with slick focusing action - Flash snaps up smoothly and charges quickly / fires strongly - Film winder works perfectly - Lens clear of any dirt / scratches Comes equipped with meter batteries and lens cap. In excellent condition with just a few signs of use. -

One of the most stylish SLRs ever made, the Canon F-1 is a beautiful camera to use. It was in production for a full 10 years from 1971 until 1981, underlining its status as one of the key professional cameras of the era. It operates in full manual mode, with the built-in light meter. The viewfinder has the match needle system, but also displays the selected shutter speed. It has a lovely slick wind / shutter release action, and can operate without batteries (only the meter uses battery power). Has a removable prism, and many different focusing screens available along with a huge range of professional accessories. The camera operates fully mechanically, and only uses the battery for the light meter. The F-1 is fairly sensitive to battery voltage so we recommend using either a Wein Cell or a 1.35v battery adaptor for meter accuracy. Supplied with f/1.4 50mm lens, or as body only. Condition Overall excellent condition No dents on the prism cover Has Type-A focusing screen in excellent conditoin All functions are working correctly including all shutter speeds and light meter. -
