ND (Neutral Density) filters are used to reduce the amount of light coming into the lens of a camera, without changing the color at all. They are varying shades of neutral grey, and are labelled according to how much they reduce the light. e.g. ND2: 1/2 of the light passes through, so make the image darker by 1 stop ND4: 1/4 of the light passes through, so make the image darker by 2 stops ND8: 1/8 of the light passes through, so make the image darker by 3 stops They are particularly useful for Super-8 movie cameras which have a fixed shutter speed which can present challenges in bright situations where the camera doesn't have a small enough aperture to achieve correct exposure. Used, but in good condition (may just require a little cleaning).
