Originally on sale from 1967 this top quality camera has a full die-cast metal body. It takes 4x AA batteries in the handle which folds away when not in use. See the gallery for a test film shot with this camera. This camera has a number of very useful features that not all Super-8s have, as you might expect from Nikon: The viewfinder has a Split Image focusing screen - much more accurate than most Super-8s Manual exposure control, which also enables you fade in / out of scenes Meter works with a very wide range of film speeds The left side of the camera has a footage counter, remote socket and frame rate selector. The zoom lens can be operated manually or motorised via the top Tele/Wide switch. This camera normally also needs 2 x SR44 batteries to operate the light meter. We offer an option to upgrade the camera to power the meter from the main batteries using a precise voltage regulator. This removes the need for additional batteries in addition to providing a very stable supply for greater meter accuracy. Has an adjustable eyepiece and battery check button on the top. A very special compact camera with fully automatic operation. This was actually the first camera Canon ever made with a built-in flash. It is also unusual in that it also has the rangefinder focusing system too (virtually no other rangefinders have a flash). Take a look at the gallery for example photos we took with a Datelux. We have put together a lovely gift set consisting of: Canon Datelux - fully tested Soft bag with strap Lens Cap User manual Batteries 1 roll of Kodak film Feels really great to hold - far better build quality than later (more plastic) cameras. Very easy to use and with a lovely 40mm lens. Just turn the lens to focus and press the shutter button. Comes with a reprint of the original instruction manual. If light is too low then the shutter will not fire, which reminds you to use the pop-up flash. Takes regular 35mm film. Has a self-timer, and can also imprint the year / month / day on photos if required. All functions tested: - Lovely clear viewfinder, with slick focusing action - Flash snaps up smoothly and charges quickly / fires strongly - Film winder works perfectly - Lens clear of any dirt / scratches In excellent condition with just a few signs of use. -
