An extremely beautiful rangefinder camera from the late 1950s. It has a superb bright viewfinder, and lovely controls. Unusually they put the film winding lever on the front of the camera but this works very well. The rangefinder is very clear.  In excellent condition and full working order. This is a fully automatic rangefinder camera (similar to the Minolta HiMatic F). All you need to do is to focus, and shoot. Compared to many other rangefinders of the era, the GEr is very compact and light, so fits in a pocket or bag with ease. It has a light sensor to measure the light level and determine the correct exposure. This camera has a particularly large range of shutter speeds (2s to 1/800s) so can cope with a very broad range of light levels, which is very useful. Lens is a 38mm / f2.8, so slightly wide angle and a very good all-rounder. Condition In good condition and full working order. Takes 2 x SR44 batteries with the supplied battery adaptors.

The Olympus 35 RC is one of our favourite cameras. Firstly it is seriously compact for a rangefinder but on top of that it offers both automatic in addition to full manual exposure control. In automatic mode you select the desired shutter speed using the top dial and the camera selects the correct aperture.  For manual mode you select both the aperture and the shutter speed for full control. Unusually the manual mode operates completely independently of the batteries so it is always available, and the batteries are just used when the automatic aperture is desired.  It has rangefinder focusing for accuracy and a really high quality lens. There are many internet articles talking about the great quality photos it can take. It also displays both the shutter speed and aperture in the viewfinder. A lovely little performer that feels great in the hand. Camera includes adaptor so that it can run on regular button cells. For the best lens cap for the RC, please take a look at our 43-46mm lens adaptor ring.  Condition:  Very nice example with no major marks, and light scuffs from usage / dulling of the silver finish. Lens in excellent condition. We service our 35 RCs and adjust the meter if necessary, clean the lens and install new light seals. Shutter speeds and meter checked for accuracy.

Of the many 35mm rangefinder cameras released by Olympus, this is generally regarded as the finest. With a superb quality 7-element lens (which was also used in the 35 UC, 35 LE and 35 LC cameras), the image quality is stunning.  The 35 SP has both fully automatic exposure mode (where the camera selects both the aperture and shutter speed), and full manual mode with a viewfinder needle that tells you the light level so that you can set exposure correctly as desired. It also has a feature that is not found on any other rangefinder of the era - spot metering.  There is a button on the rear of the camera that switches metering to spot mode, and the meter then measures light only the small rangefinder square in the centre of the viewfinder. This enables a high level of control, and is especially useful for taking portraits against a bright or dark background.  Features Lens: 42mm f1.7, 7-elements Automatic Exposure Control: Fully automatic program exposure Battery: takes 1 x SR44 battery using supplied brass adaptor Metered-Manual Exposure Control Spot metering (activated via rear button) Film Speeds: ASA 25 - 800 Filter Size: 49mm Flash Synchonization at all shutter speeds Flashmatic System for correct flash exposure Focus Range: .85m - infinity Focusing: double image coupled rangefinder Self Timer: Lever operated with a 10 second delay Shutter: Seiko mechanical leaf shutter Shutter Speeds: (Manual Mode) B, 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8,1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, Weight: 600g Condition Body in good condition with no dents and light usage marks only Leatherette is original, and in very good condition Lens is clear of mould / scratches Light seals have been replaced

The 35 EC range represents some of the smallest 35mm cameras produced by Olympus. The ECR is the top of the range as it has rangefinder focusing which is a great feature in such a small camera. We also occasionally stock the original leather case that Olympus made for this camera - click here for details. See the gallery for same example shots we took with a 35 ECR. They EC range have an electronic shutter (very quiet) and a very wide range of shutter speeds ranging from 1/800 to 4 full seconds, so can also cope with night photography (but use a tripod !).  They have a very useful shutter lock (on the front) to prevent you accidentally pressing the shutter button. There is a little battery check orange light on the top and in the viewfinder, that lights up when the shutter button is pressed halfway down to show that the battery is OK.Photo quality is great, as they have 5 lens elements (compared to 4 in the Olympus Trip). They take two SR44 batteries, using a pair of adaptors (supplied). In very good condition and full working order.

A very special compact camera with fully automatic operation. This was actually the first camera Canon ever made with a built-in flash. It is also unusual in that it also has the rangefinder focusing system too (virtually no other rangefinders have a flash). Take a look at the gallery for example photos we took with a Datelux. Feels really great to hold - far better build quality than later (more plastic) cameras. Very easy to use and with a lovely 40mm lens. Just turn the lens to focus and press the shutter button.  Comes with a reprint of the original instruction manual. If light is too low then the shutter will not fire, which reminds you to use the pop-up flash. Takes regular 35mm film. Has a self-timer, and can also imprint the year / month / day on photos if required. All functions tested: - Lovely clear viewfinder, with slick focusing action - Flash snaps up smoothly and charges quickly / fires strongly - Film winder works perfectly   - Lens clear of any dirt / scratches   Comes equipped with meter batteries and lens cap. In excellent condition with just a few signs of use.
