The Canon AE-1 Program was released as the successor to the wildly successful Canon AE-1. In addition to the capabilities of the AE-1, it also has the additional 'Program' exposure mode, whereby the camera selects both the shutter speed and the aperture, to fully automate exposure. It also has a very nice handgrip on the side (which can be removed when an auto-winder is attached). Nikon’s first ever autofocus SLR and winner of the 1986 Camera Of the Year award. Blends high technology with traditional exposure controls – an awesome combination. The Nikon F-501 was Nikon's first popular autofocus SLR for 35mm film, launched in 1986. Nikon cameras at the time were aimed at the pro / advanced consumer market and this camera demonstrates superb build quality.  It has a built-in motorised film drive (up to 2.5 shots per second), and with autofocus is excellent for sports and wildlife photography.  Unlike more recent cameras, most controls are via buttons and dials on the body - much better and faster to use than menus on tiny LCD screens. It has a meter (operated by the battery) while all shutter speeds are mechanical so can be operated without batteries. A very stylish manual SLR film camera with some very nice features. The lovely Pentax MX is excellent for beginners, but has fantastic build quality. With a full metal chassis and metal top / bottom it is built to last. (Note that the famous Pentax K1000 is actually a budget / reduced functionality version of the MX). The MX is a much more compact camera. The Canon AV-1 is a lovely automatic film camera from the 1970s. It has automatic exposure - just select the lens aperture, focus the lens and click the shutter.This makes it very easy to use, while also giving you control over aperture which is great for portraits where a wide aperture will give you a nice blurred background ('bokeh').The AV-1 has a 'B' shutter setting which you can use for long exposure night photos, plus self-timer. One of the most stylish SLRs ever made, the Canon F-1 is a beautiful camera to use. It was in production for a full 10 years from 1971 until 1981, underlining its status as one of the key professional cameras of the era. It operates in full manual mode, with the built-in light meter. The viewfinder has the match needle system, but also displays the selected shutter speed.  It has a lovely slick wind / shutter release action, and can operate without batteries (only the meter uses battery power). Has a removable prism, and many different focusing screens available along with a huge range of professional accessories. The camera operates fully mechanically, and only uses the battery for the light meter. The F-1 is fairly sensitive to battery voltage so we recommend using either a Wein Cell or a 1.35v battery adaptor for meter accuracy. Supplied as body only. A lovely example of the Olympus OM-2 film SLR, which is a great step up from the OM-1.  On the outside it looks like a very similar camera, however the OM-2 adds automatic exposure control (shutter priority) to the all-manual control on the OM-1. You simply set the aperture and the camera selects the right shutter speed. In manual mode the viewfinder shows a needle with + / - marks to indicate over / exposure - very clear to use. In automatic mode, the viewfinder display changes to also show the shutter speed. Very simple controls make this a good choice of camera for all. This camera is available with either an f/1.4 or f/1.8 50mm lens.  Condition Body in good condition with some scuffs from usage. One of the easiest SLR cameras to use - simple controls and automatic operation. Introduced in 1983, the T50 is aimed at simplicity. It has motorized film winding with easy film loading, and operates in Program Automatic mode. This means that the camera sets both the shutter speed and aperture, so all you need to do is focus the lens and shoot. The controls on the top are minimal, so it is hard to get things wrong, and the zoom lens lets you get closer to the action.
