A rather unusual SLR camera from Canon around 1969. This is a very early camera to have automatic exposure (shutter speed-priority AE) in addition to manual exposure. To use automatic mode, you simply set the shutter speed on the top of the camera and the camera selects the right aperture. The camera has a lovely bright and clear viewfinder, displaying the aperture on the right. This camera is unusual in that it has a partially interchangeable lens - you can unscrew the front section of the 50mm lens and replace it with either a 35mm or 95mm len group. The rear part of the lens is fixed to the camera. Also has a self timer, and uses the Canon Quick Load system to make loading film incredibly simple (the same system as used on the great Canonet QL17 rangefinder). The camera takes 1x SR44 battery (supplied). Condition Very good condition all round - no major marks or scratches. Beautiful clear lens (50mm f1.8) and viewfinder.  All functions are working correctly including the light meter

The one of the most advanced manual focus SLRs made by Nikon and this camera represented a milestone - it was the first to introduce computer-controlled matrix metering, Up to this point all SLRs had basic metering with one (or two) light cells covering the field of view. The FA splits the field of view into 5 areas and meters each one separately. The camera then compares these readings with a set of scenarios to intelligently compute the best exposure. As a result it won the coveted 'European Camera of the Year' award in 1984. It also offers advancde TTL (through-the-lens) flash metering with the SB-16 / SB-30 / SB-23 / SB-22 range of flash guns. It shares the same titanium shutter as the Nikon FE2 and has a top shutter speed of 1/4000s, with a flash synchronisation speed of 1/250s. It has Manual, Program, Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority exposure modes. The metering system requires a slightly longer prism than previous Nikons, and coupled with the little LCD display window on the front of the prism this makes it both beautiful and distinctive. Condition Body in excellent condition - very few marks or scuffs Focusing screen in very good condition In full working order and with original hand grip Supplied with 2 x SR44 batteries. Available as body only.
