Nikon’s first ever autofocus SLR and winner of the 1986 Camera Of the Year award. Blends high technology with traditional exposure controls – an awesome combination. The Nikon F-501 was Nikon's first popular autofocus SLR for 35mm film, launched in 1986. Nikon cameras at the time were aimed at the pro / advanced consumer market and this camera demonstrates superb build quality. It has a built-in motorised film drive (up to 2.5 shots per second), and with autofocus is excellent for sports and wildlife photography. Unlike more recent cameras, most controls are via buttons and dials on the body - much better and faster to use than menus on tiny LCD screens. Also checkout the Nikon F-601 - the successor to the F-501 and a lovely camera. Features: Multiple exposure modes Electronically controlled shutter. Stepless shutter speeds from 1s to 1/2000 Electronic self-timer Meter can cope with very wide range of lighting conditions Film speeds from 12 to 3200 ISO. Automatic film loading Single or Continuous shooting modes Takes standard alkaline batteries Compatible with a huge range of Nikon SLR lenses and accessories A landmark SLR from arguably the greatest camera maker of the era. This camera comes with a choice of the original Nikon 35-70mm, or 35-105mm zoom lenses, which are both great general-use lenses spanning wide angle (35mm) and portrait (70mm) or short telephoto (105mm) focal lengths. We also stock a selection of Nikon lenses for this camera - click HERE to view and expand your system ! Condition: Body and lens in very good condition. In perfect working order. -

A very stylish manual SLR film camera with some very nice features. If you haven't seen any reviews of this camera we encourage you to read them. Take a look at the gallery for some example shots we took with an FTb. This is one of the finest manual-only cameras of the era - with a lovely smooth winding / shutter action that screams quality. It operates in full manual mode, with the built-in light meter. The viewfinder has the tried-and-trusted match needle system, but also displays the selected shutter speed. Also has a self timer, and depth-of-field preview - a useful feature that is normally on higher-end cameras of the era. Uses the Canon Quick Load system to make loading film incredibly simple (the same system as used on the great Canonet QL17 rangefinder). The camera operates fully mechanically, and only uses the battery for the light meter. It takes 1x SR44 battery (supplied). We generally have both silver and black versions in stock. Let us know if you have a preference. A superb camera for beginners who will really learn the fundamentals of photography, but with the quality to last for years. We also stock a book: 'Learn Film Photography with the Canon FTb'. Check it out here. Great for learning about photography using this camera. Condition Very good condition all round - no major marks or scratches. Beautiful clear lens (50mm f1.8). Viewfinder generally clear with a few marks on the focusing screen All functions are working correctly including the light meter We also stock a selection of Canon lenses for this camera - click HERE to view and expand your system ! -

It is very easy to use, whereby you simply adjust the shutter speed or aperture until the camera tells you that the exposure is correct via the needle in the viewfinder. It is very easy to shoot with and will really help you to learn about the fundamentals of photography. We also stock a book: 'Learn Film Photography with the Olympus OM-1'. Check it out here. Great for learning about photography using this camera. Condition Excellent condition all round - no major marks or scratches. Originally aimed at serious amateur photographers, the SRT-Super has all of the features you could need in a manual SLR camera. Build quality is legendary (both inside and out). No surprise that Minolta sold a million of them. Released to improve upon the lovely SRT-101, the SRT-Super (also known as the SRT-102) addded the following features: Viewfinder display of your selected lens aperture Focusing screen rangefinder patch to make focusing more accurate Multiple exposure capability With a solid metal body the camera can operate without batteries (only the light meter needs them). It has one of the largest and brightest viewfinders in an SLR (that puts many later cameras to shame), making it great for composing your photos and capturing great images. We also stock a selection of lenses and accessories for this camera - click HERE to view and expand your system. We also occasionally have examples of the original Minolta leather case for these cameras. Click here. Pushing the shutter button is particularly satisfying, with a lovely smooth release movement. The viewfinder has a display of shutter speed at the bottom, with the right side having a needle that indicates if exposure is correct. Simply change the shutter speed or aperture to align two needles and set the correct exposure. At the top of the viewfinder the selected lens aperture is shown. The camera’s light meter measures exposure through the lens using twin sensors for accuracy. There is a huge range of Minolta lenses of different eras that can all be used on this camera. The camera has a depth-of-field preview button so that you can check before taking photo, plus a self-timer. Specifications Shutter speeds from 1/1000 – 1s + B Manual exposure control with ‘match-needle’ viewfinder metering Shutter speed displayed in the viewfinder Depth-of-field preview Self-timer Comes complete with Minolta Rokkor 50mm f/1.4 or 55mm f/1.7 lens (options) Takes 1x SR44 battery (supplied) Condition Body in excellent condition with a few light scratches from use Viewfinder is bright and clear with a few marks visible Fully tested with all functions in working order including shutter / film winding / meter -

The lovely Pentax MX is excellent for beginners, but has fantastic build quality. With a full metal chassis and metal top / bottom it is built to last. We generally have both silver and black bodies in stock. Let us know if you have a preference. (Note that the famous Pentax K1000 is actually a budget / reduced functionality version of the MX). The MX is a much more compact camera. It operates in full manual mode, with the built-in light meter. The viewfinder displays the selected shutter speed and a series of lights to indicate if you are over / under exposed. Just turn the shutter or aperture rings until the green light comes on. Also has a self timer, and depth-of-field preview - a useful feature that is normally on higher-end cameras of the era. This a very compact, fully mechanical SLR - the shutter speeds all operate independently of the battery (which is only needed to power the light meter). The MX has no auto-exposure mode, but it is very easy to shoot with and will really help you to learn about the fundamentals of photography. We also stock a book: 'Learn Film Photography with the Pentax MX'. Check it out here. Great for learning about photography using this camera. Condition Very condition - a few minor marks on the camera body but no major dents. Wide aperture lens (50mm f1.7 and f1.4 available as options) All functions are working correctly including the light meter We also stock a selection of Pentax lenses for this camera - click HERE to view and expand your system ! -

It operates in full manual mode, with the built-in light meter. The viewfinder has a needle that shows if you are over or underexposed. Just turn the shutter or aperture rings until the needle is in the central position for perfect exposure. The KM (unlike the K1000) also has a self-timer, and depth-of-field preview button. Both very useful features. Has very clear and simple controls, so you can focus on composing the image. Very easy to shoot with and will really help you to learn about the fundamentals of photography. Also see our listings for wide-angle and telephoto lenses to expand your Pentax system. A groundbreaking camera that showcased Canon’s first use of computerization to control camera functions. Excellent functionality combined with ease of use. Introduced in 1984, the T70 has an onboard computer and a good set of features. It has motorized film winding and rewind, and Program Auto, Shutter Priority and Manual Exposure modes (comparable to the Canon AE-1 Program). It has a simple but very clear viewfinder display that tells you which mode you are using, plus the aperture that the camera is selecting. In Program Auto mode, you simply need to focus the lens and click the shutter. In Shutter Priority mode, you can select your chosen shutter speed using the up/down buttons on top of the camera, and the camera will automatically select the correct aperture to give perfect exposure. We also stock the original flash units that Canon designed specifically for this camera. Click here to view. To the left the camera has a slide switch that turns on the power and selects the metering mode / self timer The camera is clever in offering two metering modes: Average metering (good for most situations) measures the light across the whole frame. Partial metering measures the light in the centre only which is great for tricky situations such as backlit subjects or deep shadow. The camera runs 2 x AA batteries, so no fancy Lithium cells needed here ! In very good condition. -

One of the smallest and lightest SLR cameras yet has a fully metal body, large bright viewfinder and simple controls for automatic / manual operation. Reasons why your parents probably owned one ! The ME-Super is the all-rounder member of the Pentax ‘M’ series of SLRs (which also includes the ME, MX). All three share the same lightweight and ultra-compact chassis, showcasing great build quality and lovely to use controls. The ME-Super has both automatic (aperture-priority) and manual exposure modes to cope with a wide range of situations. In aperture priority you can choose the lens aperture (which gives you control of depth-of-field) and the camera automatically sets the correct shutter speed. The clear LED display lets you know the shutter speed warns you of over / under exposure if needed. If using manual mode there are two buttons on the top of the camera for you to select shutter speed and again the viewfinder tells you when exposure is correct. Pentax put some thought into making film loading easy too – when loading film the camera has a special spool with many slots so it is faster more reliable to load film correctly. There is also a little window on the back of the camera with a striped flag that moves when you wind film on to confirm that film is indeed loaded correctly. Simple, yet very useful. The viewfinder is a joy to use – big, clear and bright. Pentax also released a separate flash to go with the ME-Super: the AF200S (we generally have these in stock). This offers auto flash exposure and also syncs with the ‘flash ready’ LED in the ME-Super viewfinder which is a nice touch. Specifications Shutter speeds from 1/2000 – 4s Simple film loading with ‘film loaded’ confirmation window Aperture priority automatic / manual exposure modes LED viewfinder display: Shutter speed Exposure compensation Over / Under exposure Flash ready indicator 50mm f/1.7 lens Takes 2x LR44 batteries (supplied) Condition Body in very good condition with a few light scratches from use Viewfinder is bright and clear, with a little dust as expected Fully tested with all functions in working order including shutter / film winding / exposure meter -

The Pentax ME is a lovely point-and-shoot film camera from the 1980s. It has automatic exposure - just select the lens aperture, focus the lens and click the shutter. This makes it very easy to use, while also giving you control over aperture which is great for portraits where a wide aperture will give you a nice blurred background ('bokeh'). Varying the aperture also gives you control over the shutter speed that the camera is selecting, and this is displayed in the viewfinder. The Pentax cameras of this era (including the MX and ME Super) have lovely compact bodies and beautiful bright viewfinder so they are joy to use, and more compact than other SLRs. The ME has a 'B' shutter setting which you can use for long exposure night photos. Finally the ME has a self-timer too. Condition Professionally tested and in full working order Light seals replaced Supplied with batteries and lens cap Lens is lovely and clear with no mould or scratches We also stock a selection of Pentax lenses for this camera - click HERE to view and expand your system !
