The Olympus OM-1 is a very slick SLR with beautiful shutter / winding action and a large, bright viewfinder.

It has a meter (operated by the battery) while all shutter speeds are mechanical so can be operated without batteries.

It is very easy to use, whereby you simply adjust the shutter speed or aperture until the camera tells you that the exposure is correct via the needle in the viewfinder.

It is very easy to shoot with and will really help you to learn about the fundamentals of photography.
