Battery adaptor for Canon Zoom 318 / 518 camera range

A number of Canon Super-8 cameras were designed to take twin mercury batteries to power the meter (separately from the main camera batteries). These mercury batteries are no longer available, and no modern equivalents are the correct shape. This adaptor allows 2 x LR44 batteries to be used in place of the mercury batteries. It does not convert the voltage from the 1.5v of the LR44 to the original 1.35v mercury voltage, but this does not have any significant impact on the results. 

It fits into the camera's meter battery compartment, and then you can simply insert 2 x LR44 batteries to power the meter.
