FILM TESTED Minolta XL-400 Super-8 movie camera
FILM TESTED Minolta XL-400 Super-8 movie camera
A very simple to use Super-8 camera from Minolta, on sale from 1974-78. The camera is nice and compact and comes with a wrist strap so is great for travelling.
See the gallery for a test film shot with this camera.
Controls are very clear and simple and the camera has a very clever and unusual feature that sets this camera apart from others: a built-in interval timer. This automatically takes single-frame shots at intervals of 1/2 to 60 seconds (you can set the timing). A great feature for shots of nature (flowers opening), sunrises etc.
