Canon EOS-100 SLR film camera and 35-135mm zoom lens
Canon EOS-100 SLR film camera and 35-135mm zoom lens
This was an advanced consumer-level autofocus SLR on sale from 1991 to 1995 and aimed a keen photographers. Most functions are selected via a control wheel on the top left of the camera which is clearly marked with icons for each function, making the camera suitable for beginners and more advanced users alike. It builds on the EOS-1000 by having a Quick Control dial on the back of the camera for faster access to camera functions.
At the time it was notable for being the quietest camera in the EOS range.
It is also equipped with a rare function that only one other Canon camera has - a barcode reader. Canon produced a book of 100 photos each demonstrating a particular group of camera settings. A barcode reader was used to scan these, and then transmit the data to the camera. Quite unique !
A moulded hand grip makes handling easy, and the viewfinder displays shutter speed and aperture and exposure compensation data.
