FILM TESTED Beaulieu 5008_S Multispeed Super-8 camera with f/1.4 lens

This is an lovely example of the lovely Beaulieu 5008_S, Serial Number 458885.  In excellent condition and in full working order. See the gallery for a short test film shot with this camera.

This camera is operating in full working order, and comes with the lovely Beaulieu Optivaron 6-70mm f/1.4 lens.

We also include a newly-celled battery and USB-powered charger.

Condition

• Film drive running smoothly / quietly at all speeds (8, 18, 24, 45fps)
• Very clear viewfinder with a little dust on the ground glass
• Meter working well at all film speeds
  
• External body paint in excellent condition. A couple of minor scratches on the body.
• Some of the trim panels have been replaced
• Film counter operating correctly
• Lens is very clear
• Motorized zoom on the lens operating well
• Motorized aperture on the lens operating well
• Both zoom and aperture motors are extremely quiet
• Meter accurate - viewfinder has a red LED to indicate over / under exposure

Battery and charger

We include our brand new battery pack. This consists of a newly recelled 450mAH NiMH battery pack and a very sturdy machined aluminium battery holder / grip. This is custom machined for us to fit perfectly onto the camera and is much stronger than the original Beaulieu grip. The USB-powered smart charger can be used both from a mains-powered USB adaptor at home, or with a USB power pack for mobile use. This has the great benefit that you can keep your camera battery topped up when on the move as it charges the camera battery in-situ.

The charger charges at a current of 500mA which is optimal for NiMH cells, and also won't overload the cameras' circuitry.

The charger has an LED that indicates charging status:

• Solid Red: charging
• Solid Green: fully charged
• Flashing Red: error
