The Nikon R8 (and larger R10) are highly sought-after cine cameras. With excellent build quality from the die-cast metal body to the superb lens, they are capable of delivering exceptional quality.

The R8 has an 8x zoom lens, with a very fast aperture of f1.4 giving excellent low light capabilities.

The R8 has some built-in advanced features that enable great creativity when shooting, including:

• Full manual exposure control (in addition to automatic)
• Fade-in and fade-out
• Overlap / rewind - to fade from one scene to another. This was a groundbreaking achievement that set the R8/10 apart from other Super-8 cameras
• Variable shutter angle
• 54 / 24 / 18 frames per second

This camera is a legend among Super-8 enthusiasts.

The camera takes 6 x AA batteries in the sturdy grip, and 2 SR44 (with brass adaptors - supplied) for the meter.

As an option we can offer the R8 with a conversion so that the meter is powered from the main batteries via a stable 2.7v voltage regulator. This eliminates the need for separate meter batteries, and also improves exposure accuracy since the regulator supplies the same voltage as the original mercury batteries for which the camera was designed. Please allow a few extra days for this to be completed if selected.
