A small, stylish automatic camera with multiple exposure modes.

One of the more capable cameras in the OM-10 range, the OM-40 boats the following exposure modes:

  • Program Mode: auto exposure mode where the cameras selects both the shutter speed and the aperture for you.

  • Auto Mode: you set the lens aperture and the camera selects the correct shutter speed.

  • Manual Mode: the user sets the speed and aperture.

The OM-40 also introduced a matrix metering system for greater exposure accuracy, and DX film coding where the camera automatically detects the speed of the film you are using.

This example comes with an original Olympus 50mm f/1.8 lens.
